Healthwatch Tameside Launches Project to Improve A&E Patient Experience

Healthwatch Tameside is inviting local people to share their experiences of Accident & Emergency (A&E) at Tameside General Hospital.
""

As the independent health and care champion for Tameside, our role is to listen to the community and share feedback with providers and commissioners to ensure services meet people’s needs.

This project aims to understand why people attend A&E, what works well, and what could be improved.

Why This Matters

A&E attendances at Tameside General Hospital are currently very high. We want to learn:

  • Why people choose A&E
  • Whether they tried other services first
  • What barriers they faced in accessing alternatives
  • What works well in A&E and what could improve
  • How people feel about facilities such as seating, toilets, and refreshments

How Your Feedback Will Help

Your views will:

  • Inform improvements to A&E and urgent care services
  • Help providers understand why people attend A&E and how care can be delivered earlier
