Healthwatch Tameside publishes findings from Its 360° Stakeholder Review
The review was carried out to better understand how Healthwatch Tameside is perceived, strengthen relationships with partners, and ensure its future work is focused where it can have the greatest impact.
A survey was shared with 54 stakeholders over a six-week period, with 16 responses received. Feedback was overwhelmingly positive, with partners describing Healthwatch Tameside as an independent, credible and trusted organisation. Respondents highlighted strong awareness of local issues, an evidence-led approach grounded in lived experience, and the ability to challenge services constructively while maintaining positive relationships.
Stakeholders also confirmed that Healthwatch Tameside’s reports are being used to inform service improvements, demonstrating real impact across the system.
The review identified key priorities for the year ahead, including continued focus on access to primary care and patient pathways, as well as strengthening engagement with diverse and underrepresented communities. Particular attention was drawn to people facing communication barriers, those with English as a second language, and individuals who continue to experience challenges accessing services.
In response, Healthwatch Tameside will prioritise building relationships with underrepresented groups, strengthening its engagement approach, and continuing to work closely with partners to influence positive change.
Alex Leach, Lead Officer for Healthwatch Tameside, said:
“This review provides valuable insight into how our work is perceived across the system and gives us confidence that we are making a difference. It also helps us to focus our efforts on where we can have the greatest impact, particularly in reaching communities whose voices are less often heard.
We remain committed to listening to local people and ensuring their experiences continue to shape and improve health and social care services across Tameside.”
