Healthwatch Tameside Health & Wellbeing Event Brings Together Local Groups and Services at Highfield Pavilion
On Monday 30 March 2026, Healthwatch Tameside proudly hosted a FREE Health & Wellbeing Event at the beautiful Highfield Pavilion in Stamford Park and what a fantastic morning it was.
From 10:00am to 1:00pm, local residents dropped in to explore a relaxed, market-style event designed to showcase the wide range of groups and services supporting health and wellbeing across Tameside. The informal format meant people could browse stalls, have conversations at their own pace, and discover support they may not have known was available in their community.
We were delighted to be joined by an incredible mix of organisations who spent the morning speaking with residents, sharing advice, and highlighting the support they offer:
- Live Active part of Active Tameside
- The Anthony Seddon Fund
- Be Well Tameside
- Action Together
- PALs team and Patient Engagement team at Tameside Hospital
- Khush Amdid
- Gabriel’s Guys - St Gabriel’s Church
- Answer Cancer
- Ashton PCN Social Prescribing team
- Hyde PCN Social Prescribing team
- Macmillan Tameside
Throughout the morning, we saw meaningful conversations taking place, new connections being made, and residents learning more about the wealth of support available locally.
What people told us on the day
One participant shared that he “really enjoyed the event and benefitted from a conversation with Macmillan Tameside, who are going to support him with the contact he needs to make at Wythenshawe Hospital regarding his treatment.” Another resident from Ashton commented on how great it was to find out about groups close to her home through a worthwhile conversation with the Ashton Primary Care Network’s Social Prescribing team.
“There were many great groups and services in the room. I found value in speaking to the Healthwatch Tameside team about my recent treatment at Tameside Hospital. Knowing that they aren't attached to the hospital and that I can share experience anonymously, the good and bad was reassuring.”
Hear about the event on Tameside Radio
It was also great to welcome Mark Andrews, who came along to cover the event. The feature will be broadcast on Tameside Radio (103.6FM) on Thursday 2 April 2026 at 7:00pm.
Thank you
A huge thank you to all the organisations who joined us, and to everyone who came along on the day. The Pavilion was filled with conversation, connection and community spirit
